Medak district is most back ward district in telangana region of A.P. it is a semi-arid zone. Low rainfall sometimes failure of monsoons affects agriculture and dependent labourers. A majority of the population depends on agriculture. More than 50% of the population consists of Dalits, Tribals, and backward class communities. Illiteracy, ignorance, superstition are common among these communities.

Earlier there were few organizations working in different parts of Medak District without knowing each other and their activities. District Authorities called for a Meeting of NGO's working in Medak District with a view to seek the co-operation and participation of NGO's in Pulse Polio programme, at district head quarters, Sangareddy. Taking the gathering of NGO's as an opportunity, few NGO's took initiation to form district Level NGO's Forum.
